Buckfast is not usually regarded as an acceptable carry-oot unless you are in Govan

An essential part of every Scottish Hogmanay, the  "carry-oot" is normally contained within a plastic bag, provided for carrying the carry-oot from one party to the next, assuming of course you're going oot in the first place.

A typical "carry-oot" will contain at least 8 cans of McEwans  Export and a bottle of whisky. Mysteriously, many carry-oots actually grow in quantity throughout the evening as the bearer staggers from venue to venue. This phenomenon has never been explained.
