Speculation was mounting last night that P R
Lunatico, the Italian Manager of Europe's dirtiest club, Fourth
Lanark, would be approached for the post of Scotland manager.
There is a growing bandwagon
to appoint a foreign coach and Lunatico's achievements at Fourth
Lanark are seen as an example of the advanced continental thinking
required to take Scotland to the top flight of international football.
An anonymous source at SFA headquarters, Jim
Farry, told FirstFoot "Lunatico is undoubtedly and without prevarication
or other questions or stalling tactics, the very embodiment of the
kind of original thinker who could advance and drive in a forward
direction the future of Scottish football".
Farry continued "As far back as I can remember
and recall, Scotland have possessed and owned in abundance, and
also had lots of, strong and robust players of the footballing kind.
With a manager like Lunatico, we would play to our strengths i.e.
dirty".
P R Lunatico was unavailable for comment. A spokesman
for the club confirmed that he was doing a tour of Russian prisons
looking for new players.
