After much contemplation, the Scottish
Philatelic International Trust (SPIT) has put forward it's final
proposal for the first issue of a Scottish stamp commemorating independence.
The stamp features Alex Harvey, the much
missed singer of traditional Scots songs such as Vambo Rools. The
Queens head is replaced by that of Robbie the Pict, the well known
campaigner and pain in the arse of the Scottish judiciary.
The design has polarised opinion.
Speaking for traditionalists, Tarquin
Lauder-Themanor, the Tory Westminster MP said "buggering,
bloody, nationalist, smelly trotskyists have no place on postage
stamps. Bring back the Her Majesty the Queen."
Responding on behalf of the newly independent
Scottish Parliament, its leader, Sean Connery,
responded "**** off ya wee ******** afore 'a punch yer ********
lightsh oot."
Can't wait for the next stamp.
