Ex-Sports Minister Tony Bank
Ex-Sports Minister Tony Banks who once said "I can get coverage for breaking wind as I walk down the road". Aye well, probably because it would be a more interesting noise than the ones coming out of the other end.

Former Sports Minister Tony Banks has accused Scottish Football Supporters of “Hijacking” a poll set up by the London Development Agency to choose a name for a new footbridge on the site of the new Wembley Stadium.

As if we would do such a thing.

Banks wants the bridge to be named after Bobby Moore, England’s World Cup winning captain.

The current frontrunner in the poll, however, is “The Jim Baxter Bridge”.

Banks is apopleptic with rage and is threatening Government intervention to overrule the result if the Baxter name still tops the poll when the final count is taken on March 18th.

Such flagrant disregard for democratic process must not be allowed to happen.

Is it our fault if “Slim Jim” is a more popular footballer than the world’s most famous jewellery thief?
